White Holland Turkeys, which reproduce naturally, originated in Europe. They were developed from Mexican turkeys brought to Europe from the Americas beginning in the 1500's. They have snow white plumage with a red to bluish head. The beard is black, the beak is pink to horn colored and the throat and wattles are pinkish-white. The shanks and the toes are pinkish-white and the eyes are brown. They are a good choice of naturally reproducing breeds for producing meat since their white color produces a more eye appealing carcass.
