Ameraucana’s were developed on the 1970’s from the Chilean Araucana chicken to breed out a lethal gene but maintain the blue pigmented eggs. They have beards, muffs and a normal tail head. Ameraucanas are excellent efficient producers of eggs, are cold tolerant, and generally very friendly birds.
